Zurückblickend arbeite ich schon seit 1982 an diesem Buch, seit ich zum ersten Mal in Fontainebleau war und wusste, dass Bouldern etwas ist, was ich mein Leben lang machen möchte! Vor knapp 10 Jahren visualisierten Klem Loskot und ich in unserem Buch Der XI. Grad, Klettern und Bouldern so, wie wir es empfinden.
Der XI. Grad, Klettern am Rande des Menschenmöglichen zeigte als erstes Kletterbuch Bewegungsreihen und Bildmontagen, die die Dynamik des Kletterns deutlich machen.
Jetzt ist die Zeit reif für ein wirklich neues Buch übers Bouldern! Einerseits ist Bouldern sehr komplex und vielschichtig geworden, anderseits waren viele phototechnische Möglichkeiten da- mals noch undenkbar. Superkurze Weitwinkelobjektive auf digi- talen Vollformatkameras, die 8 oder mehr Bilder pro Sekunde in einen großen Puffer schießen können, Intervallaufnahmen, aber auch die Möglichkeiten moderner Software, um zum Beispiel Bildmontagen zu erstellen, sind Entwicklungen, die zur Zeit von Der XI. GraD noch in den Sternen standen. Für die Analyse des Boulderweltcups in Eindhoven (Wie der Boulderweltcup gewonnen wird, ab Seite 056) haben wir beispielsweise über 28.000 Bilder in zwei Tagen geschossen, ergänzt von lückenloser Videoüberwachung, um Zeitverläufe nachträglich besser analysieren zu können. Was du auf den entsprechenden Seiten siehst, sind oft Montagen aus Dutzenden von Photos, geschossen über einen Zeitraum von mehreren Stunden.

Visuellen Typen sagt ein gutes Bild mehr als ein ganzer Klettertechnikroman. In Lizenz zum Bouldern gibt es hunderte solcher inspirierenden Bilder. Alle Photos sind ungestellt und zeigen konkrete Situationen. Das schult den Blick für Bewegungen und Linien und das ist das Wichtigste was du beim Bouldern brauchst! Lizenz zum Bouldern ist also bildbasiert, Textinformation gibt es durch eingeklinkte Bildunterschriften, um Zusammenhänge zu erklären und die Bildinformation zu ergänzen. Eine andere Informationsebene ergibt sich aus Mindmaps um bestimmte Zusammenhänge zu verdeutlichen.
Lizenz zum Bouldern ist nonlinear gestaltet, du brauchst nicht unbedingt Seite 1-100 zu lesen um Seite 101 zu verstehen. Man kann das Buch immer wieder in die Hand nehmen und mit Gewinn durchblättern. Unabhängig vom Schwierigkeitsgrad fängt Bouldern bewegungsmäßig da an, wo Klettern aufhört. In Boulderhallen mit fugenlosen Weichbodenmatten zum Beispiel kann jeder sein Bewegungsrepertoire gefahrlos erweitern. In jeder Halle und in jedem Film sieht man inzwischen neue Tricks im Umgang mit Schwung oder beim Einleiten der Bewegung. Lizenz zum Bouldern zeigt und beschreibt diese neuen Tricks. Für Grundlagen, wie etwa Hintergründe zur Trainingslehre, fand sich angesichts des Umfangs der neuen Entwicklungen in diesem Buch kein Platz, du findest diese in meinem Buch Lizenz zum Klettern!
Egal wie und wo du das Klettern an den kleinen Felsen betreibst, Lizenz zum Bouldern wird dich inspirieren. Viel Spaß damit!
